NAABA Tenant Improvements

4/8/2020

0 Comments

NAABA are currently renovating their office on Biggs Avenue. The RMWB had a concern with the right elevation wall. Two hour rated wall had to be maintained along the top chord.
CFS-SP WB spray from Hilti applied at the top of the truss top chord bearing space under the roof deck. It looked very light. We worked with Hilti firestop systems and provided NAABA with the ulc listing showing instructions for thickness to be applied for a 2 hour rating prior to their re-inspection with the RMWB.

Wse designed engine stands that could be used by Cummins to work on their large engines in their local shop. Four stands are required per engine. To be placed under the frame of each of the four corners. Each stand weighs approximately 110lbs so we designed wheels and a removable handle to make the stands easy to move around.

During a recent inspection by the RMWB, it was noticed that there wan't enough vertical rebar placed on either side of the stairwell opening. Lateral bracing was a concern. It was an ICF foundation from NUDURA. The foundation was already in place/poured.
We provided a design solution that involved reinforcing both sides of the stairwell opening using c-channel bolted to the existing concrete foundation wall. There was no need to remove any concrete and construction was able to continue.
Client = Habitat for Humanity
